Android 13 will launch soon

Google has launched two developer previews and five betas for Android 13, the fifth of which has been released on June 10. These are early operating system versions. The current beta is available for free download and installation by anyone, but the software is unstable, so use at your own risk.

The fourth beta, although, represented Platform Stability, so it is practically complete. As a result, it may spark your interest in the rest of the Android 13 schedule and when the stable version will be released.

We've collated all of the data we've collected so far on the Android 13 release schedule below.

Android 13 schedule

The ad hoc Android 13 schedule you see above was provided by Google. Overall, this is a far shorter timeline than the one we saw with Android 12 last year. Google has so far adhered to the timeline, meeting each milestone on time. In July, at least one more beta should be published, although there may be more point updates in June.

If there are no major setbacks, Android 13 should be ready for the big time in August 2022.

For the sake of comparison, the stable release of Android 12 occurred on October 19, 2021. The upgrade from Android 11 to Android 12 was, however, significant. Given that the transition from Android 12 to Android 13 isn't expected to be nearly as severe, it's possible that Google may move things along much more quickly this year.
